Born in Switzerland and father of four, Marc Thorens began his career as a professional photographer after graduating from the Creative Photography School of Lausanne.

He spent 15 years teaching photography to both children and adults. His passion for images gradually evolved into a deep interest in people, leading him to dedicate his photography to humanitarian projects for the past 20 years. Since 2004, he has collaborated with NGOs, using his photographic skills to capture portraits in some of the world’s most remote places in order to raise funds to give children access to education.

Marc later pursued a career in Human Resources, managing a wide range of HR projects for several large multinationals for more than 25 years. After 15 years in training, sourcing, and recruitment, he was appointed Human Resources Director in 2010 for a leading group in the maritime sector, where he implemented an HR governance framework that supported employees throughout their entire lifecycle within the company—from hiring to retirement.

A certified professional coach for 22 years, he specializes in career and life transition coaching, while also supporting senior executives in their agile transformation projects. A strong advocate of situational leadership, he has enabled many managers and executives to adopt new management approaches that promote employee well-being, thereby reducing absenteeism and increasing motivation to drive productivity. Through his original approach, he helps individuals emerge from isolation and engage in new personal and professional dynamics.

Marc continues to expand his personal development through tools such as NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), TA (Transactional Analysis), PCE (Trusted Person in the Workplace), mediation, and hypnosis. Fully bilingual in French and English, he has been supporting people for over 20 years—from young adolescents to senior executives—always respecting their pace and values. His passion for people shines through his empathy, attentive listening, and the quality of his coaching.
